DARK IRISH

(2021, 13 minutes)

I'm in the final stages of finishing a short documentary about my grandmother Mary Coyne Powers and the tragedies that struck her family in 1921-1922.  Dark Irish is our family legend told through interviews, photos and recreations.  I hope to announce a world premiere sometime soon.

DARK IRISH STILLS

OBLIVION

(2013, 3 minutes)

Since 2013, I've been experimenting with turning video footage into a kaleidoscopic form.  I had a wise film professor at Northwestern who said "make something that hasn't been made before" and I think this helps me scratch that itch.  Hope you enjoy.

SNOWFLAKE WAVES

(2015, 2 minutes)

This is a short kaleidoscopic meditation on the ocean.

WINTER IRIS

(2016, 2 minutes)

Have you ever noticed the iris part of our eyes sort of looks like tree branches?  Check it out.  This is the first time I've ever tried to turn a kaleidoscopic image into something else.

FOUR WINGS

(2015, 3 minutes)

This is another meditation on the ocean in kaleidoscope form.
